Tooth Replacement.

There are three options we suggest, depending on your needs:

  • Implants - A dental implant is a titanium pin or peg that can be used to replace a tooth, or to hold a denture that replaces many teeth. A whole mouth full of teeth can be made that are not removable from the mouth. It's almost like having your own, natural teeth back. After your implant is placed (by a specialist dentist) and you are released to our care we begin the process of replacing the tooth or teeth. Impressions and measurements are taken and sent to the dental lab for crown fabrication. The final step is the placement of the tooth on the implant. If the implant is to help hold a denture (or partial denture), we will have it fitted with parts that will snap onto your implant(s) and stabilize your denture. Implant supported dentures are made much smaller and often don't cover the roof of your mouth. Regular check up visits are recommended to ensure the longevity of your implant.
  • Fixed Partial Denture - Also known as a Bridge, this restoration spans the space where one or two teeth have been lost. Teeth adjacent to the gap are prepared and crowns are made to cover them. Attached to the crowns is a false tooth called a pontic. The crown-pontic-crown "bridges" the gap, replacing the teeth. Bridges are permanent - they are not removed at night.
  • Removable Partial Dentures - When many teeth are missing, a partial denture can be made to replace them all with one device. Removable partials usually have replacement teeth attached to pink or gum-colored plastic bases connected to a metal framework. They may clip onto your natural teeth with metal clasps or precision attachments. Crowns made on your natural teeth may improve the way a removable partial fits your mouth. There are many options and techniques available that we can customize to your particular situation and get you chewing and smiling again.
